Every day millions of school children across the nation are safely guided to school by their neighborhood crossing guards. These dedicated individuals may be volunteers, they may be paid by the school system, or they may be paid by the local law enforcement agency. However they got the job, their mission is to get the children walking to school across the street safely and as quickly as possible.

Thanks to all the crossing guards who have, across the years, watched over the kids as they walked to and from school. I have specific memories of a few of them, and you probably have as well.
