Frank Richerand, at right, helped in the unveiling ceremony. He owns several enterprises around Folsom, including the Giddy Up Coffee House and FAR Horizons Art Galley, plus overnight rentals and the Paddock open air music venue.

Marita Gentry, at left, is the artist who produced the mural. She is shown here with a young admirer of her work. She produced the mural in about two weeks..

Master Gardener Laura, at right, is coordinator of the community garden. Richerand went on to introduce others who play key roles in the success in the venture.

William Afton, associate extension agent for the LSU Cooperative Extension Service, shown at left, joined Richerand and Master Gardener Laura for a photo op.

This group photo shows Afton and some of the Master Gardeners and volunteers who are keeping the community garden Giddy Up and Grow going strong.

Also spotlighted were a large number of wood sculptures representing flowers, pumpkins, ears of corn and mushrooms. The whimsical sculptures installed in the garden area were created by local artist Steve Tresvik.

He has previously produced wooden sculptures of birds, turtles, other wildlife, and a horse that are located in The Paddock behind the FAR Horizons Art Gallery.

Situated on both sides of the new mural are two wooden wagon wheels that are over 100 years old.
