In 1973 the area of Claiborne Hill east of the U.S. 190 split (just before it went over the overpass) was just a low grassy area. Then plans came to build a small shopping center there. This was just outside Covington.

The shopping center was built, and in 1984 I drew a business map of Claiborne Hill. Here it is as it was 32 years ago.

Claiborne Hill is one of the oldest communities in St. Tammany Parish and was, in fact, the site of the first parish courthouse (near Chimes Restaurant.)
