In 1986 Deborah Dupre opened up the Community Lifelong Learning Project, gathering informational resources from throughout west St. Tammany Parish and publishing a detailed list of what was available to persons seeking training and advice. This was before the internet, so local experts were a chief source of reliable information.
Dozens of businesses, service agencies and professional individuals took part. Here is a copy of the venture's brochure, naming those who were participating and what they had to offer. This was thirty-nine years ago, so many of the resources are no longer available, although many of the civic organizations still are serving the community. The phone numbers to call have been blurred out since many of those are probably no longer viable.
Some business sponsors advertised in the brochure to help pay for printing.
