Old School Pictures

This collection of photographs and maps could be what is called "old school," because that is what it shows, a number of old original school buildings across St. Tammany Parish. Some of the pictures have accompanying maps, but not all the maps have accompanying pictures.

Emergency Plane Landing on Hwy. 22

Some days nothing seems to go right, say like when your single engine aircraft makes an emergency landing on La. Hwy. 22 west of Mandeville. Then again, if you're a volunteer fire fighter called to the scene, it's a little break in the routine from fighting fires. This emergency landing took place in the early 1980's near the entrance to Beau Chene subdivision. 

Not all landings were as smooth as the one above, however.

St. Paul's School Fire 1981

On November 21, 1981, fire broke out and consumed a major portion of a building on the St. Paul's School campus in Covington. Here are some photographs.
