Stage entertainment over the years has always included magicians, and St. Tammany residents enjoyed seeing a variety of magic acts in tent shows, stage performances, and even in the movie theaters for special events.

The lure of the magicians art even captured some local residents who worked to become magicians themselves, and in the 1960's an area magician's society was formed.
