The Mandeville lakefront was home to several bathhouses over the years, places where residents and visitors could walk far out onto a pier, change into their swimsuits in private cubicles, and jump into lake.
There were even skiffs and crab nets for rent. Here is the announcement for one of the newer ones in 1940.
