About 40 people turned out for the monthly community get together at the Folsom Giddy Up gathering place Friday morning. Each month the business hosts a meeting where persons of interest speak about topics of importance to Folsom area residents.
Guest speakers included Parish President Mike Cooper and Parish Assessor Louis Fitzmorris. They gave informative updates on the ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Ida, Cooper explaining debris clean up progress, and Fitzmorris explaining tax assessment consequences of damaged properties.

State Representative Larry Frieman and former Mandeville Mayor Don Villere also spoke. Frieman expressed his concerns over school children being forced to wear masks in school, and Villere presented his concerns about the building of a casino in the Slidell area.
Coylean Schloegel and Johnny Bruhl, both with the Washington St. Tammany Electric Cooperative, told about efforts to restore power to the thousands of residents in St. Tammany, Washington, and Tangipahoa Parishes hit hard by Hurricane Ida.
