Brothers Grocery Building with Habitat Flea Market

In 1988 Emily Diamond visited the Brothers Grocery Building, which was the Habitat for Humanity Flea Market at the time.

The flea market/thrift store later moved to just off La. Hwy. 59 between Abita Springs and Mandeville.
It has grown a little since then.

Established in 1981, Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West (Habitat STW) has worked to address the need of affordable housing by building and selling new homes to partnering low income families in west St. Tammany Parish.

Habitat Restore was founded in 1988, and has funded the construction of 40 homes. Originally located at the north end of Tyler Street in Covington, it offered building materials. It later moved to La. Hwy. 59 between Abita Springs and Mandeville, and then included the Habitat For Humanity thrift store.
