DECA Students Get On-The-Job Training

 The Distributive Education Club at Covington High School in the 1970's, together with the Co-operative  Office Education  Program, helped many students learn the ropes of the local workplace environment. They learned skills and work habits that would aid them in getting jobs after graduation. Here are some articles during that time period that showed the high participation rate among local businesses in the programs, as well as the appreciation of the students who took advantage of the on-the-job training.

According to her obituary, for nearly four decades, Carol Woodhem was a high school business teacher who taught computing, marketing, and introductory business courses. She spent the majority of her career at Covington High, where she managed the local chapter of DECA (Distributive Education Club of America). Mrs. Woodham made a considerable impact on the development of countless young people. She was born in 1947 and died on Monday, December 7, 2020.
