The Tunnels to Towers Foundation hosted a 5K Run/Walk benefit race on Saturday, September 14, at the Covington Trailhead. It was called the "Never Forget 5K Run/Walk" and focused on fund-raising events for those affected by the Sept. 11, 2001, tragedy in New York and its aftermath on firefighters and emergency personnel.
Local fire and police departments were encouraged to send members in fire and tactical gear to participate in the activities at the Trailhead. Funds raised will be sent to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in support of families that experienced the loss of a family member in the line of duty.
The run/walk featured a route through the downtown Covington and historic areas. Here are some pictures of the event after the walk.
