One of the biggest suppliers of baby chicks in the nation in the late 1920's was the Silver Quill Poultry Farm and Hatchery, located on La. Hwy. 36 between Covington and Abita Springs. It advertised in several national poultry publications and was well known at trade shows. Here is some printed material showcasing the facility and its services.
