Louisiana Review - 1890's

Prior to the turn of the 20th century, New Orleans newspapers were full of news about St. Tammany Parish, that growing area north of Lake Pontchartrain that was luring more and more city folk to build weekend retreats and summer homes in the Covington/Mandeville area, just a two hour boat ride away.
