At the bottom of Lake Pontchartrain lies more than 300 years of nautical mishaps, buried in who knows how much mud and silt. Here is an old anchor that was found in the lake in the mid-1980's.
Earlier, in 1977, another large anchor had been found at the bottom of the lake.
