Grand Marshal Arrives By Boat

The Mardi Gras Krewe of Bogue Falaya celebrated the arrival of its Grand Marshal Lisa Condrey Ward Monday afternoon, greeting her at the boat landing at Bogue Falaya Park  as she arrived. Hundreds of onlookers welcomed her to the event, which was a re-creation of the way Mardi Gras kings used to arrive for Covington's Carnival festivities in the early days of the twentieth century, one hundred years ago.

Here are some photographs of this year's Grand Marshal's arrival. Click on the images to make them larger.
