Art Market Showplace Alley

The Art Market in downtown Covington has moved to its new location. Usually held at the Covington Trailhead, it is now in the alleyway between the St. Tammany Art Association and the H.J. Smith's Son General Merchandise Store on Columbia Street. Here are some photos from this mornings artistic offerings. Click here for more info.

Dena Ferro, manager of Milne Work Opportunity Project, was on hand with several kinds of pies and other goodies made by the residents at Milne, an intermediate care facility near Waldheim that offers developmental skills training for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The organization operates 12 residential homes for about 50 residents, teaching them skills that aid in their independence, self-determination and self-fulfillment. The facility has a bakery that sells a variety of goods, as well as Cafe' Milne and the Milne Seafood and Steakhouse.
