The 1970's saw the beginnings of the modern swamp tour business in south Louisiana. Here are several photographs from the Louisiana Digital Library archives website that according to the caption information show a woman and child on a swamp tour in the Honey Island Swamp near Slidell.

By the mid 1980's, touring the swamps was on almost every visitor's to-do list.
