New Orleans and Its Neighbors - 1912

 Real estate was one of the first industries in St. Tammany and New Orleans . In the early part of the 1900's, land was being purchased, subdivisions were being laid out, and modes of transportation were being developed to get people back and forth to those places. Real estate agents, both in New Orleans and St. Tammany, let it be known they needed listings.


To help in this effort, on January 12, 1912, the National Real Estate Journal published an extensive account of the attractions and utility infrastructure of the City of New Orleans. 


Included in the article was a paragraph about New Orleans' neighbor to the north, St. Tammany Parish, billed as "the healthiest spot in the United States. " Click on the text image below to read the details.
