Moses Hogan Conducting NPAS

In July of 1997, the Northlake Performing Arts Society presented a choral concert featuring Moses Hogan conducting. The concert was given on two consecutive days, on July 15 and 16, some 19 years ago. He is shown conducting the performance of "Personent Hodie."

According to a website detailing his accomplishments, Moses Hogan was one of the most celebrated contemporary directors and arrangers of spirituals. In his short life, he created dozens of new original arrangements of classic spirituals, and formed several choirs that performed them with new vitality.

Six years after he conducted the NPAS choir in their special performance in Covington, he died of a brain tumor in 2003. CLICK HERE for additional photographs of his appearance with NPAS.
