Girl Scouts

St. Tammany Parish has always had an active Girl Scout community. Here are a few pictures of various activities. Below is a photo of Girl Scout Troop 1060 from Covington. The pictures were taken in the late 1970's-early 1980's. Click on the picture to make it larger.

The picture above shows another group of Girl Scouts from an even earlier time.

The 23 acre Camp Covington on La. Hwy.25 a few miles north of Covington has brought together thousands of girl scouts from throughout southeast Louisiana for years, beginning in 1927 when it was founded. CLICK HERE for more information.

In 1977 the Girl Scout Camp celebrated its 50th anniversary with a rededication.
