Donkey basketball games have been held annually for years across south Louisiana, by high schools, fire departments, and a variety of civic organizations.
Donkey basketball games were held at St. Paul's School, in Madisonville schools, Folsom, Lacombe and a number of other schools. In 2009 Carol Wolfram wrote in the Times Picayune that many years ago she participated in a donkey basketball game at St. Tammany Junior High School gym to help raise money for the Slidell Boys & Girls Club.
