Health Report from 1917
A comprehensive health report on the citizens of Covington, particularly the young people, was given in an editorial in the St. Tammany Farmer published on March 10, 1917, one hundred years ago. It gives a good idea of the diseases that were most feared at that time, as well as the local concerns about being a "health resort" that tends to attract all kinds of sick folks to come to the area.
