In 1979, the local chapter of the American Association of University Women put together a conference on "The Many Faceted Woman," an event held in various classrooms at Covington High presenting local speakers on a variety of issues.

Several years later, in 1986, the local chapter of the American Association of University Women offered another informative event, this one being a "Pathways Conference" which also featured a number of local and regional speakers on a variety of different topics.
