National Park Idea Generates Interest - 1935

In the Spring of 1935, interest was running high regarding the possibility of securing a National Park for St. Tammany Parish, one that would border Lake Pontchartrain. The proposed $20 million project was discussed at length regarding what areas would be involved, how large the actual park would be, and what it would be used for.
