Artist Reception at City Hall Exhibit

 An artist reception and gallery exhibit was held at Covington City Hall Tuesday night, July 13, 2021, with more than 30 persons attending.

The evening featured pieces of art in a variety of styles and subject matter, created by a number of local and area artists. Ben Bensen III coordinated the event, which was well received by local art enthusiasts.

Music was provided by Elaina Bachman on keyboard and guitar, with the audience joining in on some numbers, including "Light My Fire," and "Me and Bobby McGee."

The artist reception was entitled "The Doors Are Open, So..." in recognition that the Covid19 restrictions have been lessened and art galleries are back in circulation.

Artists participating included
Georgie Dussouy, David M. Blackwell, Julie Rubin, Cathy Rodriguez, Linda W. Bateman, Linda Pippin, Claire Freidricks, Elizabeth McMeekin, Wayne Bernhard, Pam Soileau, Christa F. Chautin, Emily Keller, Ria, Judy Merrell, Darlene Melancon, Ferris Hotard, Ben Bensen III, Peggy Usner, and Ana Maria Russo. Gretchen Armbruster also dropped in to view the exhibit.

The paintings will be on display, weekdays during business hours from 8:30 am till 4:30pm. The gallery is located at the Covington City Hall, 317 North Jefferson Street in downtown Covington through August 20th.
