The Northshore Garden and Plant Sale for 2021, hosted by the St. Tammany Master Gardeners Association, returned to the Bobby Fletcher Sr. Agricultural Showbarn at the Parish Fairgrounds in Covington Friday and Saturday, May 27 & 28, 2021. Hundreds of people turned out for the event, visiting dozens of booths presenting a variety of plant and yard attractions.
More than 36 vendors and suppliers took advantage of the opportunity to meet with people and showcase their plants, yard ornaments, herbs and gardening books. Northshore High School's ag department and FFA were in attendance, and LSU educational classes were also available.

Speakers included Dr. Carl Motsenbocker talking about organic gardening, Andre Brock speaking on humming birds, and Chris Dunaway explaining lawn care. Other speakers were Ron Strahan, Russell Harris, Mary Mizell, Will Afton and Jessie Hoover. "Table Talks" were also offered dealing with Pollinators, Plants that are toxic to pets, bees, wildflowers in the garden, tool maintenance, improving the soil, and "keyhole gardening."
A portion of the proceeds from the Northshore Garden and Plant Sale benefits the Bobby Fletcher Sr. and the St. Tammany Master Gardener College Scholarship Funds. The master gardeners organization has contributed more than $42,000 in scholarships for St. Tammany students majoring in agricultural fields.

An extravaganza car show brought hundreds of visitors to Columbia Street in Covington Friday night, May 28, 2021, as automotive enthusiasts put on display a wide variety of vehicles: cars, trucks, Jeeps, motorcycles, etc. There was music, food and drink, and even the weather cooperated.
