Pulling Logs Out of The River

These three pictures show the apparently popular spectator-sport event of pulling logs from the Bogue Falaya River. Desnagging the river every so often was necessary not only to keep the river open for boat traffic but also to protect the bridges. Every Spring the bridges were in danger of being wiped away by logs coming down the river.
